On January 17, Tomsk received a delegation of the Republic of Belarus, led by the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Dmitriy Krutoy.
The goal of the delegation in Tomsk was to lay the groundwork for a future project planned by the Union State of Russia and Belarus. For that purpose, the guests have visited TUSUR for an overview of high-potential R&D projects that are being developed at Tomsk universities, both independently and in collaboration with other universities, research organizations and enterprises in Russia.
Rector Victor Rulevskiy and President Alexander Shelupanov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Anton Loschilov and the leading engineers of TUSUR have presented the university’s projects with a focus on unmanned aerial systems. One such project is expected to be finished in 2024 with the launch of industrial manufacture of fast-deployment communication, monitoring and telemetry complex operated via unmanned aerial platforms. Another project, implemented in collaboration with STK and ROBS, will result in the creation of a pilot area for UAV cargo delivery within the region.
This visit by the Ambassador of Belarus represents a next step in the partnership between Belarus and Tomsk region, which has been in development since August 2023, when the Governor of Tomsk region visited Minsk with a proposal of cooperation focused on the expertise of Tomsk-based enterprises and universities, specifically industrial electronics.
