An insight into the dorm life and student experiences, the series was created by students from Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Over the course of 8 episodes, freshmen at TUSUR find new friends, get to know the city and get adjusted to a student’s routine at the youngest university of Tomsk. According to the creators, the narrative is as close to real life experiences as possible.
Screenwriting, directing and editing are entirely by students, with some guidance from the Admissions Directorate, MediaGroup TUSUR and Street Vision.
The series follows the lives of international students at TUSUR. In order to capture the spirit of their homeland and learn what local high schoolers look to find in Russian universities, the project team made a trip to Kazakhstan.
Who is this series for? First and foremost, for high school students who are deciding on their future university and want to have a peek at what’s to expect in the new city. It will be curious to watch for students as well, if only to compare it to their own experiences. And parents and university workers will enjoy the series as a way to reminisce about their own student years. This is a recommended watch!
