In late November, Tomsk and six other cities of Russia held a large-scale Intel Megahackaton competition supported by Microsoft and focusing on the development of Internet of things (IoT) solutions within the framework of the Intel IoT RoadShow. In Tomsk, the competition was co-organized by the Student Business Incubator of TUSUR University.
TUSUR University enacted its new Regulations for Support of International Postdoctoral Researchers, aimed to attract international talent to out their research under the guidance of the top researchers of TUSUR. The support will be provided in the form of grants for research personnel.
On October 21 during its conference in Istanbul, QS University Rankings has announced its results for the EECA region. The ranking reflects the impact of universities in the context of the international university community.
The purpose of the conference is to exchange experience and opinions on the role of technical universities in solving the problems of Russian economy modernization, advanced forms of scientific, technical and methodological support for innovative education, new developments and achievements in educational technologies, problems of humanization and humanitarization in modern higher technical education.

September 12, 2015 Tomsk citizens admired the 3D video-mapping show called “The City and its People” sponsored by TUSUR University. The image of more than 3000 m2 was mapped at the TUSUR main building to tell the 410-year history of the city of Tomsk and its prominent dwellers.

Olga Khalaleeva, PhD student of TUSUR University, captured gold in the Russian Rowing Cup and Russian Championship where she competed in double and quad sculls. This success allowed the athlete to qualify for the European Rowing Championship that will open in Poznan, Poland on May 29.
May 7 is the day when the students, faculty and alumni of TUSUR University celebrate the invention of radio. The Radio day has been an official Russian holiday since 1945, and an important professional holiday for everyone involved in radioelectronics.
On April 24–26 the team of TUSUR University students finished second at RoboCup German Open 2015 in Magdeburg.
